Inspections for First-time Home Buyers

If you are buying your first home, we realize the home-buying process can be daunting at times.  The last thing you want to do is buy a home that has serious defects.  Defects that can cost you money in repair costs, and put a damper on the joy of getting your first home.  We have plenty of experience in helping first-timers feel confident the home they are purchasing is a quality home.  Our home inspection will provide:

      • An easy-to-read, easy-to-understand inspection report, detailing what we find during your home inspection. A report that uses everyday language, and not construction jargon that may be difficult to understand.
      • A complete walk-through of the home after the inspection.  Your home inspector will point out any defects that were found, and what specific deficiencies should be the most concerning, if any.
      • Information on specific components of the home.  Information such as the location of the main water shut off valve, how to tell when your air conditioning needs its annual servicing, how long you should expect your water heater to last, etc.
      • A follow-up phone number to your home inspector, so you can feel free to call after the inspection is complete and the report is received, with ANY QUESTIONS that may arise.

We encourage you to ask about any specific concerns you may have with the home...and offer frank advice on repairs that may be needed.  There are generally (6) main components of a home that can be expensive to repair:
      • The foundation
      • Roof covering
      • Electrical system components
      • Plumbing system components
      • Air conditioning system components
      • The furnace components

If we can be confident these components are in good working order, the potential for expensive repairs is reduced substantially.
